The Victoriaville Group among Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies
A Premiere in the Funeral Industry
Victoriaville (QC) - February 16, 2010 - Victoriaville Funeral Supplies Inc., (Victoriaville Group), celebrates winning one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies awards. It is the first time in the history of the program that such a distinction has been awarded to a funeral industry related company in Canada.
"We believe that there are three vital building blocks to sustainable growth: strategy, capability, and commitment. Victoriaville Funeral Supplies Inc. has demonstrated it is a model of success in all three areas and is duly awarded one of Canada's Best Managed Companies," explained John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services group with Deloitte, a national sponsor of the Best Managed program.
"It is truly an honour to be recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies," stated Alain Dumont, President of the Group. "I want to thank our team for this prestigious award, which represents the outcome of a concerted effort from all our employees, targeted strategic investments, and focused management policies based on well established fundamental values."
"We hope this nomination will be viewed as yet another example of our commitment to maintaining our position of leadership in the funeral industry throughout Canada and the United States," commented Tom Ross, National Sales Manager of the company.
"The use of a wooden casket manufactured in Canada from forests effectively managed represents the most responsible choice to offer as a tribute to a lifetime," added Alain Dumont.
About Canada's 50 Best Managed program:
In honour of the 50 Best winners, Platinum Club members and Requalified members, a gala will take place in Toronto on March 8, 2010 for awards recipients. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today's business leaders.
Celebrating its 17th anniversary, Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies continues to be the mark of excellence for Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices. The awards are granted on three levels: 1) Best Managed winner (one of the 50 new winners selected each year); 2) Requalified member (repeat winners retain the Best Managed designation for two additional years, subject to annual operational and financial review); 3) Platinum Club member (winners that maintain Best Managed status for a minimum of six consecutive years). Program sponsors are Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post, and Queen's School of Business. For further information, visit http://www.canadas50best.com/.
