Mahogany is the name given to any of several different species of tropical hardwood, part of the ¨Meliacea¨ family whose common character is a red-brown wood color with pink-salmon variations.The most appreciated Mahogany trees come from Tropical Africa, Mexico and Cuba.

The Mahogany we use is imported from Africa and is considered by many, to be the king of woods because of the beauty of its fine ribbons grain and the ability to achieve a lustrous, high-quality finish with exceptional characteristics.

Certain caskets and urns manufacturers are using wood species categorised as substitutes that cannot be called Mahogany trees.
